NAVITIME JAPAN Launches "NAVITIME Transit" Multilingual Navigation App

Providing Train Routes and Transfer Information for 19 Locations around the World

TOKYO, Japan - April 25, 2017 - NAVITIME JAPAN Co. Ltd. launched its "NAVITIME Transit: World Navigation App" that is capable of displaying train routes, which include transfer points, for 19 locations* around the world in multiple languages--all within the platform of a single app. While the free-of-charge app is currently available for use on only Android® OS devices at this time, the company is planning to launch a version for use on iOS® devices in the future.

NAVITIME Transit can be used offline to search routings and transfer points for various modes of public transportation such as trains, buses, and ferries. In addition, the app shows every train and bus stop along the routes it displays. When using the app, users can search for the station nearest to their current location. Moreover, when they touch a station name displayed on the map, they can choose to see a street-view scene giving them a look at that station's surroundings. NAVITIME JAPAN's CEO & President, Keisuke Onishi, was pleased to point out one of the major features of this app, stating, "Its intuitive nature makes it extremely easy to use, even for first-time users."

*Current locations:
Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Norway, Philippines, Shanghai, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, U.K., U.S.A.
Each location can be downloaded separately as needed, and then deleted later.
