NAVITIME Wins the Good Design Award 2019 for Two Services

Tokyo, Japan -- October 2, 2019 - NAVITIME JAPAN has been awarded the Good Design Award 2019 for the two entries "Co-creation of Inbound Ready-ness in the Community with Local Elementary School Students" and "Car Navigation App with Drive Recorder." The Good Design Award is operated by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion, where a panel of professional designers evaluate and judge the entries.
For the "Co-creation of Inbound Ready-ness in the Community with Local Elementary School Students," NAVITIME JAPAN and sixth graders from a local elementary school worked together to create the "Sendagaya Inbound Tourist Map." The elementary school is located in Sendagaya, Shibuya -- close to Gaienmae where the New National Stadium is -- and the students concluded that they needed to boost their town\'s presence to the inbound tourists. They contacted NAVITIME JAPAN for aid in attaining that goal, and NAVITIME JAPAN guided the students through recognizing tourism resources, communicating with foreigners, analyzing big data, and analyzing the findings of the project. The map introduces spots picked out by the students and interviews of local people, along with a colorful map of the area.
The "Car Navigation App with Drive Recorder" is a new feature added to the CAR NAVITIME smartphone app this February, and reflects the increase awareness in safe driving. It is the first smartphone car navigation app in Japan which provides a drive recorder feature.
