NAVITIME JAPAN Launches JOURNEY PRO CONNECT: A Smartphone Multimodal Navigation Application Localized for the UK Market
Tokyo, Japan -- September 27, 2011 -- A large city in the UK - such as London - with complex public transportation networks and intricate streets can be difficult to travel around. Planning the trip can also be frustrating and time-consuming, as there are so many possible combination of transportation methods and streets to choose from.
President Dr. Keisuke Onishi commented on the background of the development. "Our challenge in the UK market started two years ago when we were preparing to launch Journey Pro. We studied the unique characteristics of the UK transportation system - as well as how people used them and what inconvenienced them - and released the smartphone application in September 2010. We have been continuously updating the application based on those feedbacks, and now with over 152 thousand downloads, I can say that it has been worth the effort. The new JOURNEY PRO CONNECT brings a whole new challenge, with new social features and a larger transportation scope.
